New agreement with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind
New agreement with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind
Jutlandia Terminal has just signed a new extensive agreement with MHI Vestas Offshore
Wind. The agreement comprises loading of approximately 120 complete V164 turbines for the projects Aberdeen Bay, Borkum Riffgrund 2
and Horns Reef 3. The V164-8.0 MW® is the largest commercially available and installed turbine.
All parts of the WTG come to Esbjerg from Lindø and Nakskov, where they are
assembled and will be loaded on installation vessels.
This new agreement replaces an old agreement between Jutlandia and MHI
Vestas Offshore Wind and came into force on March 1, 2018. The operation also
commences in March where we begin handling and loading for Aberdeen Bay followed
by Borkum Riffgrund 2 and at last Horns Reef 3. The project will be continued throughout 2018 and will bring a significant activity to our already large stevedoring department, which
today counts 9 men.
“We are incredibly proud that MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has chosen Jutlandia
Stevedoring to handle the loading operation of the three projects. Furthermore,
we are humble about the job and we will put all efforts into optimizing the loadings;
and not only meet but also exceed the expectations of MHI Vestas”, Kim List,
Operations Manager Stevedoring says.
Kim continues, “We have spent a long time preparing for the handling which is
reflected in the strong team Jutlandia Stevedoring is today, where everyone is
experienced in loading installation vessels. We are looking forward to the
cooperation”.
Jutlandia has more than 30 years of experience with stevedoring at the Port of Esbjerg, which makes us very competent to handle loadings, unloadings, lashing and securing goods etc.
